The Transgender Gender-Variant and Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP) is often touted among organizers in the Bay Area as one of the most grassroots nonprofits out there. Their goal is to support and uplift TGI people in the Bay Area in their struggles both inside and outside of prison.

Prop 13 is one of the worst California laws on the books. It passed as a ballot initiative in 1978, motivated by a right-wing anti-taxation segregationist group called the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. They probably also kick puppies.
